Shared Adventures

I enjoy spending time in wild environments with people, creating happy memories through meaningfully shared adventurous experiences. Many of my happiest past experiences have been with people I had not met before and through the adventure we shared, we created enduring and close friendships.

I do not charge a fee for sharing time in the wilds and only ask from a financial perspective, that essential costs are shared between us.

Additionally, I ask for your permission to use creative material in the form of photos, video recording and voice recording in creative projects I am working on at the time. These may be for video 'vlogs', films, podcasts, photo albums and other projects.

I don't mind taking responsibility for safely guiding you through the adventure if you are new to the activity, or to outdoor experiences in general. In fact, I'm delighted to open up new outdoor experiences for folks in the hope that this will inspire confidence and new awareness. I have worked as an outdoor instructor and wilderness guide for over thirty years, so my experience and wisdom in this field will ensure the safest of experiences. The inherent risks are minimal and we will not seek to place ourselves in harms way simply for the sake of it.

You can read more about my outdoor leadership experience here.

Apart from specialist kayaking equipment, I do not have a range of outdoor clothing and equipment to loan. So, for example, you'll need to use your own tent. sleeping bag and clothing. Please don't worry about this because I'll provide you with all the information about what is required for specific adventures.

Arriving at Innimore Bothy, Morvern, Scotland

Some adventures we can share may look like these;

  • Sea kayaking camping trips
  • Sea kayaking for a day or half-day
  • Overnight bothy trips
  • Munro ascents
  • Rock climbing and abseiling
  • 'Big boot' mountaineering - climbing a classic multi-pitch route
  • Bivouac and sleep under the stars
  • Solo - experiencing wilderness solitude for 24 / 36 / 48 hours with minimal equipment
  • Walking the wild hinterland and coastline of the Isle of Mull
  • Wilderness immersion and solitude
  • A day or half-day sailing on our 31' Colvic Countess ketch, "Anna-Maria"

Most of these shared adventures will take place on the Isle of Mull, the island on the west coast of Scotland where I live. However, we can make arrangements to explore further afield and immerse ourselves anywhere in the wild expanses of glorious Scotland.

There is so much we can do and see!
